Tauba Auerbach @ Deitch Project
I went with Peirong to see the Tauba Auerbach show at Deitch last week. Couldn't help but feel the artist needed a re-vamp/re-do/re-print of her book (why the cliche horrible typeface?!!!) and an injection of mystery to the work. Whoever 'They' are, they're doing it wrong. Plus she's hot, but why put her in a box with what's her name from Glass Candy? Watered down Pipilotti Rist prints in badly curated reflective plastic frames. The organ is impressive, buy why was it made of wood?

ha! i enjoyed your honest comments. i haven't seen the show in person. it's on the other coast from me. but i'm sure if i were there, i would have looked at the frames. reflective plexi can really take away from the art behind it. as for the wood organ, i say thumbs up. wood is good.
one thing i did notice, that you may know, or may not know. the middle image you have, the show you wish it was. that was a group show, where tauba's "art" was the tiled floor. that's all. the wall pieces are by ara peterson. see more of them here....
